ENACTUS Gifu-city

ENACTUS Gifu-city

Enactus (formerly known as Students in Free Enterprise, or SIFE) is an international not-for-profit organisation with a global network of over 66,500 university students in 36 countries. Students collaborate with leaders in business and academia by taking entrepreneurial action to create projects which empower their communities and society through positive social change.

Each year, teams from various universities across Australia compete against each other at the National Conference and Championships by presenting their projects to a panel of judges, culminating with the winning team representing Australia at the Enactus World Cup.

Enactus Gifu-city is now one of the largest student organisations at Gifu-city, with members ranging over 6 faculties and 20 disciplines. Originally established in 2000, the organisation quickly grew to over 90 active members within the first few years.

Responsibilities

  • Enactus Gifu-city is a team-based activity – volunteers will be a member of a team that represents Gifu-city within the community and the Enactus network, directly contributing to the positive reputation of the university with each success volunteers have.
  • They will also represent Gifu-city in competition with other universities at the national level and if successful, volunteers will have the once in a lifetime chance to compete for a world championship against the best teams in the world.
  • As volunteers go about the process of building a team, developing projects, finding funding, overcoming obstacles and adversity and participating in a competition, they will develop the kinds of bonds and friendships that can last a lifetime.
